At Heart2Heart Outreach, we believe that consistent, compassionate presence can transform lives—especially in the lives of seniors who often feel overlooked. This month, we’re honored to spotlight 1Name Church for their inspiring outreach at the Life Care Center at Inverrary.

With open hearts and willing hands, a team of seven dedicated volunteers from 1Name Church stepped into the lives of the residents, bringing with them an atmosphere of love, joy, and encouragement. What started as a quiet gathering quickly turned into a powerful moment of connection. Through songs, clapping, and genuine fellowship, the volunteers broke down walls of hesitation, turning silence into singing and solitude into shared joy.

Residents who were initially shy began to request songs from their past, joining in the melodies with smiles and sparkling eyes. It was more than music—it was ministry. The room filled with warmth as volunteers shared words of hope, prayed one-on-one with residents, and extended personal encouragement.

The most profound moment came when volunteers offered Bibles to anyone interested. Five residents eagerly accepted, touched by the love and sincerity of the team. And the story doesn’t end there—1Name Church will be returning this week to personally deliver the Bibles and small gifts, continuing the beautiful connection they’ve started.

This is the kind of impact made possible by churches and volunteers who choose to show up—not just once, but again and again. It’s a powerful reminder of what happens when faith takes action and people decide to be present in the lives of those who need it most.

To 1Name Church—thank you for being a living example of love in action. You’ve not only shared songs and smiles, but also planted seeds of faith and friendship that will continue to grow.

This is the difference our volunteers and church partners make every single day. Want to be part of stories like this? Visit Heart2Heart Outreach to get involved, become a Heart2Heart volunteer

Becoming a Heart2Heart volunteer means that you are dedicated to serving the aging community. It means you want to connect in a meaningful way to a specific individual or to several people. It means you are committed to a consistent amount of time per month – whether that’s several hours a week or just a few hours per month.

Heart2Heart volunteers must be background checked and trained. Our training can be completed from your home on your computer or device, through the online Volunteer Portal. We run fingerprints in our office in Fort Lauderdale, and you can schedule an appointment with us after you finish the training.

On March 15th, members of Lauderhill Seventh-Day Adventist Church and their families brought joy, creativity, and compassion to seniors at Active Senior Living and Fort Lauderdale Health and Rehab.

Through wreath-making, songs, and a Bible-based skit, they reminded residents that they are seen, loved, and never alone.
