2025: A New Year, A New Challenge
As 2025 begins, I reflect on 2024 with gratitude and purpose. It was a tumultuous year—marked by change, uncertainty, and challenges that left many wondering, “what’s next?” From mysterious drones to growing community struggles, the year brought a sense of cognitive dissonance—the tension when reality clashes with our expectations.
For me, this dissonance was most striking in the faces of vulnerable seniors in our community, whose stories revealed the heartbreaking realities of isolation and need.

I want us to consider what a wider range of diverse experiences when we talk about aging. I want to reflect on how we, as a community, want our neighbors and our mothers and fathers and our grandparents to live out their latter decades of life. I want us to consider each one of their voices as we strive to meet their needs.
